Falcon or Fighter?

This Star Wars inspired piece was a very daunting prospect to be honest. The mountains of detail in the millennium falcon was something I looked forward to attempting to master but I never thought I would do it in all honesty.

The important thing to do with pieces like this is take regular breaks, chop the task down into bite size chunks that you can do in 3 hour stints. Keeping the proportion of the falcon was only going to be done by using the grid technique.

The Death Star surface detail took more time than you would expect to give it the correct textured pattern finish.

Lesson learned from this piece: Be ambitious, you don’t know your limits until  you try to go beyond them.
